A walk in the park

It is cloudy and grey today, so my walk in the park was cheered by this snowman:

And this strange elevated chair:

Half a snow day!

Maybe you look at this and think "pretty," but I mainly think "I am not getting stuck in this, it's time to go home!"

Nearby scenery

To start of this week's pictures, here's one of the Babelsberg Rathaus (city hall), it stands accross the street from my bus stop on the way to work.

And then the Rummelsberg harbor from a run today:

And a memorial to Marx - I could neither read the text nor figure out what the pictures were about:

Half old house

Maybe it's tough to tell from the picture, but the house in the middle is old on the left and renovated on the right. Other than that, this is just kind of typical babelsberg!

Soccer mural

This mural between the babelsberg train station and work has always looked really awkward to me. I've attempted to grab this picture before, but have been thwarted by the sun, people gathered just in front of it, and being in a hurry.

Half a platform

The train station by my work is still half closed. Trains running every 20 minutes (instead of the usual 10) add an average of 20 minutes a day to the commute.

It would be worse if they weren't doing much construction, but they are pretty seriously ripping up the platform.

Back at AIP

It seems while I was gone, spring started at AIP at last. This is from yesterday (and I'll try to remember to post today's tonight):

Temperamental weather

I suppose this is one way to do spring. Every 15 minutes the weather shifts from sunny to grey to raining to a wintry mix. Here is sleet(?) from my window at work yesterday:

And I took the pretty way down the hill from work:

Spargelhof

This stand popped up across the street from my bus stop in Potsdam. Despite the strawberry, "Spargel" definitely translates to asparagus.

Spring green?

The building is Schwarzschildhaus at the AIP, but I really took the picture because there are finally some buds on the trees!

Detour

My train was delayed so I tried a creative solution to getting to the office. According to Google, this walk was my fastest option once I missed my usual connection.

S-bahn construction

I went by the half closed s-bahn station today. It certainly appears to be under construction... Or maybe just overloaded with construction-related cargo.

Bikes at Potsdam HBF

I'm still on busses, but once I get a bike I'll leave it here for my Potsdam commute!

Worse commutes to come

My usual s-bahn station is closing for about 6 weeks. Unless I get a bike, I'll be losing an additional ~90 minutes a week to the commute!

Infrequent bus is infrequent

Just a picture of the bus schedule at my work stop to illustrate the point:
