Sunday Pfanday

There are only six grocery stores open on Sundays in Berlin. In the whole city of Berlin. David took this picture of the very crowded REWE where he stopped to get supplies for our dinner.

In addition to the crowds headed in and out, there is a huge line at the Pfandflasche return machine. Pfandflaschen are bottles that you get money back for returning - the machines are located in most grocery stores. I feel bad that these folks don't have time to do it during the week!
